It's been a while since we have posted anything. We just haven't had much going on lately. Since school has started we have just been busy with working. Yuck! We were excited to get an invitation to Tim's cousin, Bryan's, wedding in Potosi, MO and decided to make a mini vacation out of our trip. We left on Thursday evening and drove half way. We arrived in St. Louis Friday morning and went directly to the Arch. It was Caden and I's first time and Tim was 8 the last time he was there. It was amazing! After the arch we spent the rest of the afternoon at the zoo. That evening we picked up Rachel and her boyfriend Dan from the airport. We went downtown to Union Station and the Hard Rock Cafe. The next morning the 5 of us headed to the Budweiser Factory and enjoyed the tour and free samples!!! Caden loved the Clydesdale's. Our final stop was Potosi. We made it just in time for the wedding, danced the night away at the reception, and finished the evening with a hallway party in the hotel. Good times were had by all and it was so nice to get away for the weekend as a family!

Caden's 4th Birthday Party
We celebrated Caden's 4th birthday this weekend. It was a pirate themed party this year. Our family and friends spoiled him like always with lots of new treasures. We had a a great time and are thankful that we have so many people that love and care about our son as much as we do! Thank you for making his day so special!

Girls Trip

My friend Paige and I recently took a girls trip to Chicago to visit my sister in-law Rachel. We had to have one last party before our summer was officially over and we had to return to school. While we were there we stayed one night at Pheasant Run Resort, where Rachel works, and were able to go to the Big and Rich concert. Because we had "connections" we were able to do a meet and greet with them also. It was way cool! We also did some shopping, were introduced to Tapas (yummy), and did the tourist thing downtown. It was a lot of fun and a great end to our summer!

Cruise
Tim and I and our friends Rod and Jodelle just returned from a 7 night Caribbean Cruise. It was Jodelle and I's graduation present and it was fabulous. We left from San Juan and traveled to Aruba, Curacao, Dominica, St. Thomas, and back to San Juan. We went on some interesting tours, hiked to some waterfalls, took a Screamin' Eagle boat ride, did some shopping, ate lots of great food, and had many (sometimes too many) wonderful drinks. Tim and I's favorite part was the tour through Dominica and hiking to the twin waterfalls and the Sulfur Springs (even though it was the worst smell ever). Our favorite island by far though was St. Thomas. What a beautiful place! We had a great time with our friends and can't wait to do it again. The hardest part was leaving our little boy for that long. He was in the good hands of his grandparents and aunt. All he was worried about was the surprises we were going to bring back for him:)

Master's Graduation
It seemed like it took forever but, I finally made it! I graduated with my Master's in Education from Baker University last Sunday. I completed the program with two of my best friends. We had a great party together on Saturday and enjoyed our big day on Sunday. Thank you everyone who sent me cards, gifts, and good wishes! I appreciated it all!

Spring Break in Florida
We just returned home from our Spring Break trip to Florida. We stayed with Grandma and Grandpa Sullivan in Bonita Springs and had lots of fun adventures. We were able to see a space shuttle launch, we went to a children's museum, took an air boat ride, played miniature golf, went to a zoo, and of course... played on the beach. We even made a trip to the local urgent care center. Caden had a rash and it turned out he is just super sensitive to the sun. We spent almost a week there, but time flew by so quickly. Caden was very upset that he had to leave the sand. We had a great time and hope to do it again. I wish we could have brought the warm weather back with us!

World of Wheels
This was our first outing in six days since Caden caught the flu. The World of Wheels car show was in Kansas City. Daddy really wanted to go and was able to entice Caden with all of the "celebrities" that were going to be there. We saw Dora and Diego (although Caden was scared to get close to them), Kitt from Knight Rider, Speed Racer, and Jason Earles (aka-Jackson from Hannah Montana). It was fun, but we ended up coming home early because Caden's tummy started hurting again.

The First Annual "Tacky" Sweater Party
We decided to do something different for New Year's Eve this year and throw a Tacky Sweater Party with some of our friends and their families. Who knew that wearing the ugliest sweater you can find could be so much fun. There was a prize for the best tacky sweater. Can you guess who the winner was from the pictures? Here's to a fun and "tacky" 2009! (By the way...our friends aren't always this neardy looking...well...most of them!)
Christmas
Christmas was a lot of fun for Caden this year. He is beginning to understand what it is all about and he loves it (Well...he loves everything but Santa!). Our holiday was very busy and went by so fast. We began by going to Horton for the Sullivan Family Christmas and then we celebrated with Tim's family at his parent's house. Next we were off to western Kansas where we had Christmas Eve dinner at Bre's Great Grandmother's house and had Christmas with Bre's mom in Ashland. Finally on Christmas Day we went to Bre's Dad's house in Dodge City. Caden must have been good this year (or is just very spoiled) because we had a hard time fitting all the new toys into the truck to take home. The most important thing was that Santa brought the Batman fishing pole he has been wanting. The hardest part is finding room to store all of the new goodies at home. We were glad we were able to spend time with so many family members this year and we had a great holiday break.
